AGENDA ITEM 7H <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: John Powell, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: October 17, 2001 <br />TOPIC: PUBLIC HEARINGS — Proposed Assessments: Bluebill Ponds; <br />Highland Meadows West 3rd Addition; Peregrine Pass; Spirit Hills; <br />Individual Properties Which Requested Connection to City Utilities <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required to Close the Hearing <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On September 10, 2001, the City Council set the Public Hearing for the <br />proposed assessments on these projects for Monday, October 22, 2001. All <br />necessary notices have been mailed to affected property owners indicating the <br />amount of the assessment and the date of the hearing. <br />The projects involved are either subdivisions where we have development <br />agreements describing the assessments or individual properties where they have <br />specifically petitioned and agreed to the assessments. We will provide a brief <br />overview for each project then respond to City Council questions, if any. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Close the public hearing. <br />2. Continue the public hearing. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends Option No. 1 for all hearings. <br />
