The forfeiture fund account currently
has a balance of approximately $10,000. We are requesting that
the City Council approve the purchase of a snowmobile for use in
our DWI, Drug and Snowmobile ordinance enforcement issues within
the City of Lino Lakes.
This is a replacement for the snowmobile that was totaled during
the winter season of 2000 -2001 which we received $3,000 from the
insurance company to pay for the value of the snowmobile. We
anticipate the cost of this snowmobile to be approximately
$5,860.00.
The snowmobile is a 2001 Polaris 700 Classic, equipped with
electric start, reverse & electronic shocks, mirrors on each side
of the hood, and hand warmers. This snowmobile is a Polaris demo
with approximately 243 miles. There is a six month, 1000 mile
warranty.
Appropriate training will be provided to all officers prior to
utilizing the snowmobile for enforcement purposes.
OPTIONS
1.
