• <br />AGENDA ITEM 3A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR Al Rolek <br />MEETING DATE December 10, 2001 <br />TOPIC Consideration of adopting Resolution 01 -190 adopting the final <br />2002 General Fund Operating Budget for the City of Lino Lakes <br />VOTE REQUIRED <br />BACKGROUND <br />Simple Majority <br />State Statutes require the City of Lino Lakes to adopt and certify a final 2002 operating budget on <br />or before December 28 of each year. <br />Although the state legislature waived the public hearing requirement for the 2002 budget cycle, <br />the City Council held a Truth in Taxation public hearing on the budget on December 10. A <br />summary of the proposed budget was presented and discussed during the public hearing and <br />public testimony was received. <br />The final 2002 budget represents an 11.60% increase over the 2001 budget. The City <br />experienced growth of 13.52% over the same period. <br />The City Council needs to take final action on the budget at this time. Staff recommendation is to <br />adopt Resolution 01 -190 approving the final 2002 General Fund Operating Budget. <br />OPTIONS <br />1.
