MEETING DATE: February 9, 2004 <br />TOPIC: Second Reading: Ordinance 02 -04 <br />Rezoning Site from R -4, High Density Residential <br />to R -3, Medium Density Residential <br />Northeast Corner Lake Drive and Aqua Lane. <br />VOTE: 3/5 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Council approved the first reading of Ordinance 02 -04 on January 26. The subject site <br />is four acres of property at the northeast corner of Lake Drive and Aqua Lane, adjacent to the <br />existing Marshan Lake Condominiums. The entire Marshan Lake Condominiums site and the <br />remaining four -acres along Lake Drive is guided Medium Density Residential. The site is zoned <br />R -4, a high - density zone. This is not consistent with the comprehensive plan's Medium Density <br />classification. To address this inconsistency, Ordinance 02 -04 amends the zoning ordinance to <br />rezone the site to R -3 to bring it into conformance with the comprehensive plan. <br />Upon approval of the second reading, the ordinance will be published on February 17th and <br />become effective 30 days after publication. <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Approve the second reading of Ordinance 02 -04, rezoning the site from R -4 High Density <br />to R -3 Medium Density. <br />2.
