AGENDA ITEM 7A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jim Jacques, TKDA <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: February 23, 2004 <br />TOPIC: Public Hearing: Annual Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program <br />VOTE REQUIRED: N/A <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In compliance with the provisions of the Clean Water Act, as amended, (33 <br />U.S.C. 1251 et. Seq., 40CFR 122, 123 and 124, as amended et seq.); Minnesota <br />Statues Chapters 115 and 116, as amended, and Minnesota Rules Chapter <br />7001, the city adopted a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan and authorized <br />its submittal to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency as part of the City's <br />application for enrollment in the State of Minnesota's General National Pollution <br />Discharge Elimination System Phase II Permit Authorizing the City's discharge of <br />• storm water. <br />As part of the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, the City must solicit public <br />input at an annual meeting required under the Public Education and Outreach <br />plan including: <br />• A presentation about implementation of the City's Surface Water <br />Pollution Prevention Program in 2003 <br />• Affording interested persons an opportunity to make oral statements <br />concerning the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program <br />• Consideration of relevant written materials that interested persons <br />submit concerning the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program <br />• Consideration of public input in making adjustments to the 2004 <br />implementation plan for the Storm Water Pollution Prevention <br />Program. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Close the Public Hearing. <br />• RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 1 - Staff recommends closing the public hearing. <br />
