•
•
(Ns -6
CITY JOF
IN KE
MEMORANDUM
DATE: April 19, 2004
TO: City Council
FROM: Michael Grochala
RE: Black Duck Lift Station Property
The City Council authorized the reconstruction of the Black Duck Sanitary Sewer Lift
Station in 2003. As part of the project, the lift station was relocated from the west side of
Black Duck Drive to City owned property on the east side of the street. The old location
was a 30' x 30' parcel obtained in 1972 when the station was constructed. As shown in
the attached diagram the parcel extends into the adjacent single family residential lot.
With the removal of the lift station the parcel is no longer needed for public purposes.
The adjacent property owner has expressed his interest in the parcel to remove the
"notch" in his property. Staff is recommending that the parcel be sold to the abutting
property owner for the nominal fee of $1.
The sale of the city property must be completed by ordinance. Staff is proposing to place
this on the city council agenda in May.
J:\mgrochala \Staff Reports \City Council \Work Sessions\2004 \4 -21 -04 Black Duck Lift Station Property.dot
