e Irl (ocE <br />land. <br />211.04 Appointment and Compensation of Members. The Board shall consist of <br />seven (7) members and they shall be appointed by a majority of the Council and shall <br />receive a quarterly salary set annually by Council resolution. <br />212. Planning and Zoning Board <br />212.01 Planning and Zoning Board Established and Membership. A city planning <br />board to be known as the Planning and Zoning Board is hereby established. The Planning <br />and Zoning Board shall serve as the city's planning agency as deemed by M. S. 462.354. <br />Membership of the Planning and Zoning Board shall consist of seven (7) members who shall <br />be appointed by the Mayor, with City Council approval, for three (3) year terms commencing <br />on January 1st. Terms shall be staggered so that no more than one -half of the members' <br />terms expire at one time. Both the original and successive appointee shall hold their <br />respective offices until their successors are appointed and qualified. Vacancies during the <br />term shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointments are made for the <br />unexpired portion of the term vacated. Every appointed member shall before entering upon <br />the discharge of his duties, have taken an oath that he will faithfully discharge the duties of <br />his office. (Amended by Ordinance No. 07 - 89 passed January 8, 1990, amended by <br />Ordinance No. 05 - 92, passed February 10, 1992) <br />212.02 Meetings, Officers, Procedures. The board shall establish regular meeting <br />dates and shall hold at least one regular meeting each month. Special meetings may be called <br />by any two members of the board upon three days written notice to all members. The <br />commission shall establish such rules of procedure as may be deemed necessary. The board <br />shall select a chairperson, vice- chairperson and secretary from its membership who shall <br />serve for terms of one year, beginning January 1, of each year. <br />212.03 Removal. Any board member may be removed prior to the end of the term <br />only by two- thirds vote of the council. <br />212.04 Duties. The planning board shall have such duties as assigned in this code, <br />and any other ordinances of the city. <br />27 <br />
