Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: June 14, 2004 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 04 -80, Approving Plans and Specifications and <br />Authorizing Advertisement for Bids for the Marshan Lane Utility <br />Improvements Project. <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The plans and specifications for the Marshan Lane Utility Improvement project <br />were ordered by the City Council. City utilities will service the new Marshan <br />Estates subdivision and all Marshan Lane residents. Preparation of the plans is <br />substantially complete, including reviews by the Rice Creek Watershed District, <br />and Anoka County. City staff has prepared the plans and specifications for this <br />work and is requesting Council approval to advertise for bids. The project <br />schedule is as follows: <br />June 14, 2004 <br />July 8, 2004 <br />July 12, 2004 <br />October, 2004 <br />Approve Plans and Authorize Advertisement for Bids <br />Open Bids <br />Consider Award of Contract <br />Substantial Completion of Construction <br />The project cost for the Marshan Lane Utility Improvement project is <br />$245,000.00. The funding for this project will be through assessments to the <br />benefiting properties and Trunk Funds. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution Number 04 -80, approving plans and specifications and <br />authorizing advertisement for bids for Marshan Lane Utility Improvement <br />Project. <br />3. Not adopt Resolution Number 04 -80. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 2 - Staff recommends that Resolution No. 04 -80 be adopted. <br />
