AGENDA ITEM 3A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Ann Blair, City Clerk <br />TO: City Council <br />DATE: June 28, 2004 <br />RE: <br />VOTE REQUIRED: <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Consider 2004 Liquor and Tobacco License <br />Renewals <br />Simple Majority (3/5 Vote Required) <br />The 2004 liquor and tobacco licenses are scheduled to be renewed, effective July 1, 2004. <br />The following attached list of establishments have submitted the required applications for <br />renewal, along with the required documentation. <br />Staff has completed the necessary steps to verify that the establishments listed have <br />addressed the application requirements for these licenses. <br />Detective Kent Strege of the Police Department will have completed the background <br />criminal history checks required by Wednesday, June 23, 2004. He has indicated there is <br />no information which would lead to a recommendation for denial of the licenses at this <br />time. <br />Approval of the licenses listed is conditioned upon continued compliance with city, state, <br />and federal laws, and upon maintaining proper insurance coverage, being current on <br />required taxes and payments, completion of background checks, and payment of all fees. <br />Establishments which have received fines due to liquor violations will be required to pay <br />these fees before issuance of the new license. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve the 2004 Liquor and Tobacco License Renewal Applications for the <br />attached list of applicants. <br />2. Deny the list of 2004 Liquor and Tobacco License Renewal Applications. <br />3. Approve Liquor and Tobacco applicants for 2004 individually. <br />
