Blair, City Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: July 12, 2004 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 04 -103, Authorizing Permit Fee <br />for Vendors at Approved Special Events <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Lino Lakes City Code Section governs Transient Merchants / Peddlers and Solicitors, the <br />application process, background investigations, and provides for related fees. Code <br />Section 612.07 provides that the Council may, by resolution, make adjustments to these <br />fees. <br />At the work session on July 7, 2004, the City Council discussed that the fee structure <br />currently does not appropriately address special events, such as "Blue Heron Days" <br />which will take place August 20 -21, 2004, and that a two- tiered fee structure would be in <br />keeping with City policy while providing for a short-term permit process. <br />The attached Resolution No. 04 -103 provides for a $50 two -day sales permit for <br />approved Special Events in the City. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve Resolution No. 04 -103 Authorizing Permit Fee for Vendors at Approved <br />Special Events. <br />2. Deny Resolution No. 04 -103. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option 1. <br />
