• <br />• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM NO. 5A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: November 8, 2004 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution 04 -175, Receiving <br />Donations for the Family Turkey Shoot Special Event <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department sought program sponsors for its <br />annual Family Turkey Shoot to be held on Saturday, November 13, 2004. Since its start <br />in 1998, over one thousand individuals have attended this event. The event is a free <br />holiday event for the families of Lino Lakes that consists of low -key competition in a <br />variety of athletic events: baseball throw, frisbee toss, floor hockey shoot, football throw, <br />basketball free throw and beanbag toss. Other event attractions: inflatable arch <br />bounce, removable sport tattoos and turkey coloring sheets. <br />The following organizations have generously donated funds to help defer the costs of <br />this event: <br />Lino Lakes State Bank $250 <br />Circle Pines Lexington Lions $250 <br />Forest Lake Area Athletic Association $100 <br />Please find attached Resolution No. 04 -175 for your consideration. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1.
