• <br />• <br />• <br />RESOLUTION NO. 04 -172 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A ONE -YEAR EXTENSION TO THE <br />JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT FOR <br />VADNAIS LAKE AREA WATER MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION <br />WHEREAS, the governmental units comprising the Vadnais Lake Area <br />Water Management Organization entered into a Joint Powers Agreement on September 8, <br />1983 (amended in 1997), in order to meet the requirements of the Metropolitan Surface <br />Water Management Act; and <br />WHEREAS, the existing Joint Powers Agreement Among the Units of <br />Government comprising the Vadnais Lake Area Water Management Organization will <br />expire on January 1, 2005; and <br />WHEREAS, the Vadnais Lake Area Water Management Organization <br />Board has requested that the Joint Powers Agreement between the participating parties be <br />extended for one year, through January 1, 2006, to allow the Board to study options for <br />future wetland management services by Vadnais Lake Area Water Management <br />Organization or a combined watershed district. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City <br />of Lino Lakes desires to remain a member of Vadnais Lake Area Water Management <br />Organization and hereby approves the one -year extension to the Joint Powers Agreement <br />Among the Units of Government Comprising the Vadnais Lake Area Water Management <br />Organization. <br />ATTEST: <br />Ann Blair <br />John Bergeson <br />
