COLUMBUS
Phone: (651) 464 -3120 • Fax: (651) 4645922
November 21, 2006
City of Lino Lakes
Attn: Jeff Smyser, City Planner
600 Town Center Parkway
Lino Lakes, MN 55014
RE: Lino Lakes EAW "Nature's Refuge" Conservation Development
Dear Mr. Smyser,
Thank you for providing the City of Columbus with a copy of the EAW for
the "Nature's Refuge" Conservation Development for our city's review and
comment. The City of Columbus would like to express their interest in
cooperative planning with the City of Lino Lakes and offers the following
suggestions and/or comments related to the proposed development
• The City would like to explore the opportunity to evaluate /discuss any common
improvements to Pine Street. Would the developer be willing to complete
improvements on Pine Street prior to the last phase of the project?
• We strongly recommend that Pine Street not be used as a construction road or
haul road for the project.
• if the improvements are not completed on CSAH 14 prior to the development, we
believe that the traffic flow analysis would not be accurate and could impact Pine
Street.
• Columbus is interested in discussing the future possibility of extending sewer and
water utilities further north on Lake Drive on a cooperative basis perhaps through
a Joint Powers Agreement and/or alternate joint arrangement.
Should you have any questions, please contact me at the City Hall Offices.
Sincerely,
e_SL
Elizabeth Mursko
City Administrator
City of Columbus 16319 Kettle River Boulevard Columbus, Minnesota 55025
