cCONTY <br />Anoka County Multi - Jurisdictional <br />All Hazards Mitigation Plan <br />HILLTOP <br />Geographic location and characteristics: The City of Hilltop is located in southern Anoka <br />County, within the City of Columbia Heights, a first -ring suburb on the northeast border of the <br />City of Minneapolis. Hilltop is completely surrounded by and shares all of its borders with the <br />City of Columbia Heights. Hilltop is 80 acres in size or 0.1 square miles. The City of Hilltop is <br />located at Latitude 45.05N and Longitude - 93.24W and has an elevation of 942 feet. <br />Public lands: Hilltop has 27 acres of public land within the city. These areas include schools, <br />city offices, public works facilities and a small public park. <br />Private fee areas: There are no such areas in Hilltop. <br />Agriculture and forestry: There are no such areas in Hilltop. <br />Commercial and industrial development and trends: Hilltop is fully developed. There is no <br />significant growth projected. Redevelopment/ renewal of aging commercial areas is all that is <br />expected in the near to distant future. <br />Residential development and trends: Hilltop is fully developed. No growth in the number of <br />households is projected. <br />Infrastructure and infrastructure projects: There is no planned expansion of streets, water or <br />sanitary sewer service. <br />LEXINGTON <br />Geographic location and characteristics: The City of Lexington is located in the SE corner of <br />Anoka County about 5 miles north of HWY 694. Lexington shares North, South, and West <br />borders with Blaine and East Border with Circle Pines. Lexington is about 1 sq mile in size. The <br />City of Lexington is located at Latitude 45.13N and Longitude - 93.17W and has an elevation of <br />909 feet. <br />Public lands: The City has 3 public parks, city offices, public works facilities and a fire station. <br />There are 3 churches in Lexington. The City of Lexington owns and operates Lexington <br />Memorial Park. It is nearly 20 acres in size and supports two tennis courts, five ball fields, a <br />hockey rink, a skating rink and a warming house. There are also three neighborhood <br />playgrounds in the city. <br />Private fee areas: There are no private fee areas in Lexington. <br />Agriculture and forestry: There are no agriculture or forestry in Lexington. <br />Commercial and industrial development and trends: Lake Drive (CSAH 23), where most of <br />the commercial activity of the city is located, divides the city from the northeast to the southwest. <br />Retail uses dominate commercial areas, although there are automobile service uses, <br />restaurants, storage facilities, professional offices, and other commercial use as well. There is <br />no future growth anticipated. <br />• The center of commercial activity in Lexington is Northway Shopping Center, located along the <br />south side of the Lake Drive frontage road.
