• <br />• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM NO. 5A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />DATE: January 8, 2007 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution 07 -02, Approving T- <br />Mobile Central, LLC, Tower Lease Agreement <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />T- Mobile Central, LLC has expressed an interest in locating the installation of antenna <br />facilities on the city's monopole located at 1189 Main Street. The attached proposed <br />agreement between T- Mobile Central, LLC and the City has been reviewed by the city <br />attorney. Staff is requesting council approval of the tower lease agreement. <br />T- Mobile Central, LLC is proposing to lease space for the installation of a 240 square <br />foot base station at the base of the monopole. In addition, three sectors of up to three <br />panel antennas each will be placed on the tower. <br />The proposed agreement provides for an initial option fee of $100.00 for a one year <br />period with another $100.00 option fee for an additional year. Should T- Mobile Central, <br />LLC exercise the option to locate their antenna facilities, the initial term of ten years will <br />consist of an annual amount of $19,260.00. This is comparable to the rate of the <br />existing tenant on the monopole. The agreement also provides for automatic renewals <br />of three additional five -year terms, each with a 7 1/2 percent annual rent increase of the <br />previous term's annual rent. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve Resolution 07 -02, Approving T- Mobile Central, LLC, Tower Lease <br />Agreement. <br />2. Do not approve Resolution 07 -02. <br />3. Return to staff. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option 1. <br />
