• <br />Anoka County Multi- Jurisdictional <br />All Hazards Mitigation Plan <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />Anoka County, Minnesota <br />DATE: May 27, 2003 RESOLUTION 02003 -76 <br />OFFERED BY C(IMMISSIONER: Erhart <br />COUNTY BOARD AUTHORIZATION OF ANOKA COUNTY TO PARTICIPATE <br />IN ALL HAZARD MITIGATION PLANNING PROCESS <br />WHEREAS. the County of Anoka is participating in a hazard mitigation planning process as <br />established under the Hazard Mitigation Act of 2000; and, <br />WHEREAS, the act establishes a framework for the development of a county hazard mitigation plan. <br />WHEREAS. the act as pan of the planning process requires public involvement and local <br />coordination among neighboring local units of government and businesses: and. <br />WHEREAS, the plan must include a risk assessment including past hazards, hazards that threaten the <br />county, maps of hazards, an estimate of structures at risk, estimate of potential dollar losses for each hazard, a <br />general description of land uses, and development trends; and, <br />WHEREAS, the plan must include a mitigation strategy including goals and objectives and an action <br />plan identifying specific mitigation projects and costs: and, <br />WHEREAS. the plan must include a maintenance or implementation process including plan updates, <br />integration of plan into other planning documents, and how the county will maintain public participation and <br />coordination; and. <br />WHEREAS, the draft plan will be shared with Minnesota Planning for coordination of state agency <br />review and comment on the draft; and. <br />WHEREAS, approval of the all hazard mitigation plan will make the county eligible to receive Hazard <br />Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) project grants; and, <br />WHEREAS, this resolution does not preclude the participating cities and townships fruits preparing its <br />own plan sometime in the future should it desire to do so: <br />NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Anoka County is authorized to participate in the <br />countywide hazard mitigation planning effort, and recognizes that the plan will also apply within the <br />participating cities and townships. <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA) <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA 1 SS YES <br />1, Tim Yantos, Deputy County <br />Administrator, Anoka County.
