Mark D. Benson, PE, LEED GA Transportation & Traffic Engineering Lead Mark has 25 years of varied qtransportation planning and preliminary design experience working for Mn /DOT and as a Consultant. His experience has included coordinating and managing the preliminary planning, environmental impact documentation, geometric design, and public involvement activities of numerous major highway corridor projects and interchanges. In addition, Mark has assisted communities with Comprehensive Transportation and Master Planning. Through these roles, Mark has become an expert with public involvement. all aspects of the environmental review process, and obtaining state and federal project funding. Marl< recently managed your Lake Drive Interchange project and he is also a resident of Lino Lakes. Tom Sohrweide, PE, PTOE Senior Transportation Engineer Tom has more than 35 years of traffic engineering and operations experience. He provides traffic operations support to municipalities and also manages a variety of projects, including traffic studies, traffic signal designs, roadway designs. Tom has also served as Assistant Traffic Engineer for Skokie. Illinois; and Traffic and Parking Engineer for the City of Appleton, Wisconsin. John Gray, PE Traffic Signal Engineer John has designed hundreds of traffic signal systems, flasher systems. and emergency vehicle preemption systems during his 22 years of experience. He is a recognized expert in the planning and design of traffic signal systems and routinely works with Anoka County and Mn /DOT as their Signal Engineer. page 15 1 Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. We have designed projects ranging from signal systems to freeway interchanges. Our staff maintains relationships with all levels of staff at the County. In particular we frequently coordinate and meet with Doug Fischer and Kate Garwood. We understand how critical the county highway network is to serving the transportation needs of the City.
