City of Lino Lakes <br />2008 Budget Preparation Calendar <br />• June 8 – Budget worksheets and calendars distributed to Directors. <br />• July 2 – City Council provides direction on budget parameters. <br />• July 9 – Departmental budget requests are prepared and submitted. <br />• July 9- August 13 – Administrator and Finance Director review <br />requests with Directors and develop proposed 2008 Budget. <br />Proposed budget distributed to City Council. <br />• August 20 — Bu get work session - City Council reviews proposed <br />2008 Budget. <br />• September 5 – Follow -up City Council budget work session. <br />• September 10 – City Council approves proposed 2008 Budget and <br />Tax Levy and sets Truth in Taxation hearing dates. <br />• By September 15 - Proposed Budget, Tax Levy and Truth in <br />Taxation hearing dates are certified to Anoka County Auditor. <br />• Mid - November– County mails Truth in Taxation notices to <br />taxpayers. <br />• December 10 – City Council holds Truth in Taxation Hearing. <br />• December 17 – City Council holds Continuation Hearing, if <br />necessary. City Council adopts final 2008 Budget and Tax Levy at <br />Subsequent Hearing. <br />• By December 28 – City certifies final 2008 Budget and Tax Levy to <br />Anoka County Auditor. <br />v <br />
