Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: July 9, 2007 <br />TOPIC: Public Hearing, Shenandoah Area Street Improvement Project. <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote required to close the hearing <br />BACKGROUND: <br />in accordance with the City's Pavement Management Program, the City Council <br />ordered and updated a feasibility study for the reconstruction of the streets in the <br />Shenandoah Area. In addition, this area is not currently serviced with City water, <br />which was included in the study. <br />The street reconstruction portion of the project will be funded partially by <br />assessments and partially by the General Tax Levy. Watermain will be funded <br />through assessments and the Trunk Unit and Area Fund. <br />A neighborhood meeting was held Thursday, June 28, 2007. The Feasibility <br />Study was presented at the neighborhood meeting. <br />The next step in the process is to close the Public Hearing. The City must allow <br />60 days to elapse following the Public Hearing before any further action can be <br />taken on the proposed project as required by the City Charter. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends closing the Public Hearing. <br />
