Mr. Spack <br />also serves part-time as an Adjunct Professor in the University of <br />Minnesota's Department of Civil Engineering. <br />Since beginning his career in 1996, Mike has participated in a wide variety <br />of traffic engineering and transportation planning projects. Following are <br />the types of projects he has directed and/or worked on: <br />► Traffic Impact Studies <br />► Environmental Analyses <br />► Traffic Operations <br />► Pedestrian System Planning <br />► Corridor Planning <br />► Signal Justification Studies <br />► Site Specific Parking <br />Circulation <br />► Traffic Signal Design <br />► Roadway Design <br />► Signing & Striping Design <br />► Traffic Signal Operations <br />► Roadway Audits <br />► School Safety Studies <br />► Safety Studies <br />► Traffic Data Collection <br />Mike has conducted several parking studies at Traffic Data Inc, including <br />studies for Brookdale, the Mall of America, and Minneapolis (40/France <br />shopping district). <br />City of Maple Grove, MN <br />Mr. Spack was employed as the City of Maple Grove Traffic Engineer. As <br />the traffic engineer he reviewed all development proposals, all roadway and <br />traffic signal construction plans, and all traffic studies prepared for the City. <br />Mr. Spack performed as the project manager on construction and planning <br />projects. He also responded to all citizen requests pertaining to traffic <br />conditions. In this regard he performed numerous traffic studies to <br />determine if additional traffic controls are needed within neighborhoods <br />and along collector /arterial routes. Mike routinely made presentations to <br />the City Council and Planning Commission. He also worked regularly with <br />neighborhood groups and has conducted several neighborhood meetings. <br />Mr. Spack was responsible for all traffic operations along City roadways <br />and worked closely with Mn/DOT and Hennepin County regarding the <br />operations of their roadways within the City. <br />Benshoof & Associates, Inc., Hopkins, MN <br />While with the Benshoof firm, Mr. Spack prepared traffic impact studies <br />for several types of environmental documents including EAWs and <br />AUARs. The land use types involved with these studies included offices, <br />residential, retail/commercial, industrial, restaurants, and mixed -use <br />developments. Mike also prepared comprehensive transportation plans for <br />the cities of St. Michael and New Brighton. He designed several traffic <br />control signals, signing plans, and striping plans. <br />Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik & Associates, Inc., St. Paul, MN <br />While with the Bonestroo firm Mr. Spack designed over 30 traffic signal <br />systems, numerous signing & striping plans, and a roadway. Mike <br />prepared signal justification reports for these signal systems and was <br />responsible for the contract administration and construction inspection of <br />all traffic signal projects. Mike prepared several traffic impact analysis <br />reports and the comprehensive transportation plan for Forest Lake <br />Township. He was responsible for all of the Municipal State Aid reporting <br />and plan review for twelve State Aid Cities. <br />
