(3) Bathroom Enclosures. Every water closet, flush urinal, lavatory basin, and <br />bathtub or shower required by Section 1009.23 shall be located within the rooming <br />house in a room or area that: <br />(a) Affords privacy and is separate from the habitable rooms; and <br />(b) Is accessible from a common hall without going outside the rooming <br />house. <br />(4) Minimum Floor Area for Sleeping Purposes. Every room occupied for <br />sleeping purposes by one person shall contain at least seventy square feet of floor area. <br />Every room occupied for sleeping purposes by two or more persons shall contain at <br />least fifty square feet of floor area for each occupant. <br />(5) Bed Linens and Towels. The operator of a rooming house shall change the <br />supplied bed linens and towels at least once a week and prior to the letting of any room <br />to another occupant. The operator shall be responsible for the maintenance of all <br />supplied bedding in a clean and sanitary manner. <br />(6) Window Coverings. The window of each rooming unit shall be supplied with <br />shades, drawn drapes, or other devices or materials that will afford privacy to the <br />occupant of the rooming unit when properly used. <br />(7) Responsibilities of Operator. The operator of a rooming house shall be <br />responsible for. <br />(a) The sanitary maintenance of all walls, floors, and ceilings and every <br />other part of the rooming house. <br />(b) The sanitary maintenance of the entire premises when the entire <br />structure or building is leased or occupied by the operator. <br />Licenses <br />1009.40. Required. <br />No person shall allow to be occupied or let to another for occupancy units in a <br />multiple dwelling for which a license has not been granted by the City. There shall be <br />two types of licenses: regular and provisional. <br />1009.41. Application. <br />(1) Before any license shall be issued or renewed, the owner shall complete an <br />application. The following persons shall be authorized to sign and submit the <br />application: <br />(a) If the owner is a natural person, by the owner thereof. <br />(b) If the owner is a corporation, by an officer thereof. <br />(c) If the owner is a partnership, by a partner thereof. <br />14 <br />• <br />
