DRAFT 8 -17 -07 <br />X. WATERMAIN AND FUTURE WELL NEEDS FOR EACH OPTION <br />For each of the two potential water treatment plant sites, the raw watermain needs were <br />determined. The costs for the east site are somewhat higher than for the west site. This is <br />because the existing wells are closer to the west site. The raw water mains are designed to <br />bring all the water from the wells to the treatment plant site and then larger water mains <br />would convey the water from a central booster station into the distribution system <br />throughout the City (See Figure 5 in the Appendix). <br />This report calls for 9 wells rather than 8 because the proposed plant is designed for the <br />ultimate population rather than for the 2030 time period used in the 2004 Comprehensive <br />Water System Plan.
