More specifically,
you were looking for assistance in implementing Section 807.07, Subdivision 2 (1), which limited the
use of All- Terrain Vehicles on any roadway, street or highway within the corporate city limits of Lino
Lakes.
Attached please find a memo that I wrote to Doug Fischer, Anoka County Highway Engineer
concerning the County's alternatives with regard to regulating the use of ATVs on County highways
and right -of -way. As my memo notes, the County could adopt an ordinance prohibiting the use of
All- Terrain Vehicles on the County highways and /or ditches. However, such an ordinance would
have to be County -wide and could not be limited to the City of Lino Lakes.
Although the Public Works Committee was sympathetic in assisting the City in implementing
its new Ordinance, based upon the requirement that any ordinance it would pass would be required
to cover the entire County the Public Works Committee declined to recommend that the County
adopt such an ordinance.
If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me
at (763) 323 -5668.
Sincerely,
Dan Klint
Assistant Anoka County Attorney
763- 323 -5668 Phone
DK:dd 763 - 422 -7589 FAX
Enc.
