• MONITORING: The UNION will have access to the Finance Director in mid -July to discuss <br />City financial affairs and the EMPLOYER'S determination of the financial necessity of the <br />second half of the unpaid leave hours. <br />ARTICLE XI OVERTIME: Section 1. Hours worked in excess of eight (8) within a twenty - <br />four hour period (except shift changes) or more than forty (40) hours within a seven (7) day <br />period will be compensated for at one and one -half (1 1%) times the employee's regular base pay <br />rate. Compensatory time at time and one -half (1 V2) may be taken, at the option of the employee, <br />as payment of overtime worked., in lieu of money. Once accumulated, employees may use <br />compensatory time with the prior approval of the Director of Public Services or the Public <br />Works Superintendent. Compensatory time may be accumulated to a maximum of sixty forty <br />" 0) 60) hours. Compensatory time totally more than forty (twenty (20) hours will be paid <br />out at the last pay period of the year. Employees may carry over forty twenty (20) (40) hours of <br />compensatory time into the following year. <br />ARTICLE XII GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE: Step 4. A grievance unresolved in Step 3 <br />and appealed in Sten 4 shall be submitted to the Minnesota Bureau of Mediation Services for <br />mediation. A grievance not resolved in Step 4 may be appealed to Step 5 within ten (10) <br />calendar days following the EMPLOYER'S final answer in Step 4. Any grievance not appealed <br />in writing to Step 5 by the UNION within ten (10) calendar days shall be considered waived.. <br />4111 ARTICLE XVIII EDUCATIONAL 1RAINING: (add the following language) <br />EMPLOYEES will have the opportunity to attend Phase 1. Phase 2 and Phase 3 training at the <br />Local 49 training center.
