The event plans include a pig roast, corn feed, horseshoe tournament,
and music. Although the hours for the various elements of the event vary, the
overall hours of operation would be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday,
and 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The Legion would like to fence off a portion of their property on the south and
east side of their building to be used for picnic festivities on this day only. The
Minnesota Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division requires a 1 to 4 Day
Temporary On -Sale Liquor License to allow the consumption of alcohol in this
outdoor area. The applicant is required to submit their request to the city
requesting local approval before the application is submitted to the state for final
consideration.
The Legion has submitted to the City an application for both a special event
permit and temporary liquor license. The applications have been reviewed by
staff, including the police and fire departments, and the applicant has been
provided with a list of safety conditions. The applicant has agreed to comply with
the conditions and to address any other safety considerations that may arise.
Background information on the applicant and the American Legion Post officers
is on file at City Hall.
29c
-33-
