"D I s-f,' f. Lt. AC LA-f -D <br />Criteria for Residential Properties <br />to Apply for an Exemption from, or Credit Against the <br />Storm water Utility <br />1. Property must not be served by City water and /or sewer. <br />2. The driveway as it meet the road, must be of porous material such as <br />gravel for a distance of 30 feet from the public road. <br />Additionally the runoff from the roofs must be collected in rain barrels, <br />dry wells, rain gardens, gardens, or adjoining natural areas, or porous <br />driveway and parking areas. Lakes, streams or public ditches should be <br />a good (insert footage) distance away from the roofs or hard surfaces. <br />3. Properties which are landlocked and whose residents must access the <br />public road by easement should be exempt as long as they meet the <br />criteria in # 2 above. <br />4. Properties which already collect storm water (and water main breaks) <br />from storm sewers and culverts installed by the city are exempt from the <br />utility as long as they meet the additional criteria in #2 above. <br />Frivolous Applications: <br />Those properties not meeting the above criteria will be encouraged not to <br />apply by the addition of a 20% surcharge to their SW Utility bill. this will <br />cover cost of staff reviewing the frivolous application. <br />respectfully submitted by <br />Mary Ann McDougal <br />
