o These national events normally involve a Saturday and Sunday event. <br />Thus one weekend would have 2 Event days. <br />• 8 Oval Regional Event Days. These events are regional in scope. Traveling teams. <br />o Events include lesser powered vehicles and attendance is approximately <br />one third to one half that of a National event. 20,000 to 40,000 attendees. <br />Events are normally one day events and held in connection with a local <br />event. <br />• 16 Local Oval Event Days Sportsman (not including the 8 events held with <br />Regional events) <br />o These events consist of yet less horse powered vehicles. Attendance is <br />estimated in the <br />o 10,000 to 20,000 range (except on the regional event days). <br />Total Estimated Oval days 28. <br />Drag Strip, <br />• 4 National Event days. Attendance for a 4 day event daily basis is expected in the <br />30,000 range per day. <br />o These events produce short bursts of a high decibel. Short burst are <br />normally under 5 seconds. Expect to meet Minnesota Noise Standard. <br />o 8 Regional Event days Attendance is expected in the 30,000 range. Events <br />are normally 2 day events. Less powered vehicles. <br />• 26 Local event days. These events are sportsman events. Attendance is <br />approximately <br />o 2000 per event. Less powered vehicles with few attending other than team <br />families and friends. Local sportsman will also race on regional event <br />days. Many of these vehicles are street legal. <br />On regional and local event days, the Oval and Drag strip will likely and when feasible <br />be operating simultaneously, thus reducing the number of actual days. <br />Total Estimated Drag Strip days 38. <br />Development Process: <br />This is a project in the earliest concept stage. Before proceeding, a mandatory <br />Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) must be completed. An EIS does not provide <br />approvals of anything, it provides information. The EIS would assess the impacts on a <br />wide range of issues, and necessary remediation of these impacts, including but not <br />limited to: <br />• Traffic generated, infrastructure needs and access <br />• Sanitary sewer and water needs and regional ability to service those needs <br />• Wetland impacts and stormwater management <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />
