Twin Cities Gateway FY11 Budget Summary Details:
• Regional Meetings & Conference Marketing - these funds will be used to
market, promote, and stimulate additional meetings and conferences to
be held at venues throughout the regional destination area. Print
advertising and online marketing will be the principal means of reaching
prospective meeting and conference planners.
• Community Festivals & Grants Program - as in previous years, these funds
will be allocated directly to each of the nine (9) member communities of
the Bureau to be used to market and promote its signature festival and
event. The City will request the funding for its specific event and the
Bureau will disperse the funds to the City for distribution to the festival or
event organizers.
• Regional Marketing Grant Program - these funds will be available to the
Bureau's member communities and regional organizations to help offset
the costs of creating, developing and hosting events and activities with a
regional impact. Regional marketing grant funds will be available to bid
for new events and tournaments; create and promote new events; and to
retain, host and promote existing events. Grant funds will require
matching funds and applicants must meet specific program criteria.
• Regional Marketing / Promotion / Advertising - these funds will be used to
market and promote the Twin Cities Gateway as a visitor destination for
travelers coming to the Twin Cities area, as well as prospective visitors who
may be interested, or persuaded to visit. Promotional methods may
include, but are not limited to print advertising, online marketing, direct
mail / direct response, public & media relations activities, sponsorships,
marketing partnerships and the development / production of promotional
materials.
The City of Lino Lakes is represented on the MMNT Board of Directors by Mary
Alice Devine / Economic Development and Barbara White / Hampton Inn.
Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions regarding the FY1 1
Budget, or any other Twin Cities Gateway Tourism Bureau opportunities, or issues
you may have. Telephone: 651 488 5145 / email: steve @tcgateway.com
2
v
