• <br />• <br />Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10 -100 <br />AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL <br />RESOURCES 2010 TO 2012 COMMUNITY FOREST BONDING GRANT PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is offering a Community <br />Forest Bonding Grant to communities to establish a more establish a more diverse and <br />resilient community forest; and <br />WHEREAS, the Emerald Ash Borer established in the State of Minnesota will eventually <br />arrive in the City of Lino Lakes, and <br />WHEREAS, the opportunity to mitigate some of the Ash mortality in Lino lakes is <br />afforded by planting a variety of trees to replace ash trees in Lino Lakes Parks and <br />streetscapes, and <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota DNR Community Forest Bonding Grant provides 100% <br />funding for the purchase of trees, and <br />WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes can apply for up to $25,000 to purchase and plant <br />more diversity in several parks and two neighborhood street scapes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />That the application to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources 2010 to 2012 <br />Community Forest Bonding Grant Program is hereby approved and staff authorized to <br />execute the application on behalf of the city. <br />Jeff Reinert, Mayor <br />Julianne Bartell, City Clerk <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council 8thh day of November, 2010. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council <br />Member and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br />
