Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />• adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 06 -10 <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION (MNDOT) CONDUCT A SPEED STUDY ON COUNTY <br />STATE AID HIGHWAY <br />(Lake Drive) <br />WHEREAS, Mn /DOT recently completed a speed zone study of the Lake Drive <br />(CSAH 23) corridor and authorized proposed speed limit modifications along this <br />corridor. The speed limit authorization form sent by Mn /DOT on October 26, <br />2004 approved a speed limit of 45 mph beginning at a point approximately 100 <br />feet south of the intersection with Marshan Lane. South of this point, the <br />authorized speed limit is 55 mph. <br />WHEREAS, Based on proposed improvements on CSAH 23, the City of Lino <br />Lakes is requesting a change in the termini of the speed limit transition point. We <br />believe that the appropriate point of transition from 55 mph to 45 mph is <br />approximately 700 feet south of Marshan Lane. <br />WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Transportation sets the regulatory speed limit <br />on this street, and <br />WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Transportation may revise the speed limit on <br />certain streets upon completion of a speed study <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lino <br />Lakes hereby requests the Commissioner of Transportation conduct a speed <br />study to be completed by Mn /DOT on CSAH 23, taking into account the <br />proposed improvements on this roadway. <br />John J.
