Population — Source: Minnesota State Demographer; estimate <br />Households — Source: Minnesota State Demographer; estimate <br />2. Property Values <br />Source: Minnesota Department of Revenue. Data shown for the "payable" <br />year; e.g., 1985 value is payable in 1986. Indicated market value, <br />assessed valuation and sales ratios are from the Department of Revenue. <br />3. Building Permits <br />Source: Data provided by individual cities <br />4. Retail Sales <br />Source: Minnesota Department of Revenue's Historical Retail Sales data on <br />"Gross Retail Sales," showing both taxable and nontaxable sales. Number of <br />businesses equals the number of vendors who filed sales tax returns. <br />5. Individual Economic Status <br />Per Capita Income — Source: Minnesota Department of Revenue. Federal <br />Adjusted Gross Income (FAGI) divided by demographer's estimate of popu- <br />lation. Per capita adjusted gross income figures for 1985 are prelimi- <br />nary numbers from the Minnesota Department of Revenue. Data for 1986 is <br />not yet available.
