City Council HPP Applications February 13, 2006 Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 06 -19 SUPPORTING LAKE DRIVE (CSAH 23) INTERCHANGE AND ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, Lake Drive in the City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota is Anoka County State Aid Highway 23 (CSAH 23), a route on the National Highway System (NHS); and WHEREAS, the CSAH 23 corridor has an interchange access to Interstate 35W (I- 35W), a route on the National Highway System (NHS); and WHEREAS, the CSAH 23/I -35W interchange is currently experiencing growing congestion and safety problems WHEREAS, improvement of the interchange will remove the existing two -lane bottleneck at the bridge over I -35W; correct a dangerous situation with offset on -off ramps at the south end of the bridge; allow for continuous and safe bike and pedestrian trails across the bridge; and eliminate unsafe access points along CSAH 23; and WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes in partnership with the County of Anoka p y and Minnesota Department of Transportation have completed the necessary environmental documentation and preliminary design of the improvements; and WHEREAS, this project will protect and enhance interstate mobility, and enhance safety on both I -35W and CSAH 23 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA that; the Anoka County Interchange Improvements at I- 35W and Anoka County State Aid Highway 23 be authorized as a High Priority Project (HPP), and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that funds be authorized for the Federal partnership in this project.
