City Council <br />HPP Applications <br />February 13, 2006 <br />Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 06 -19 <br />SUPPORTING LAKE DRIVE (CSAH 23) INTERCHANGE AND ROADWAY <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />WHEREAS, Lake Drive in the City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota is Anoka County State Aid <br />Highway 23 (CSAH 23), a route on the National Highway System (NHS); and <br />WHEREAS, the CSAH 23 corridor has an interchange access to Interstate 35W (I- <br />35W), a route on the National Highway System (NHS); and <br />WHEREAS, the CSAH 23/I -35W interchange is currently experiencing growing <br />congestion and safety problems <br />WHEREAS, improvement of the interchange will remove the existing two -lane <br />bottleneck at the bridge over I -35W; correct a dangerous situation with offset on -off <br />ramps at the south end of the bridge; allow for continuous and safe bike and pedestrian <br />trails across the bridge; and eliminate unsafe access points along CSAH 23; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes in partnership with the County of Anoka <br />p y and <br />Minnesota Department of Transportation have completed the necessary environmental <br />documentation and preliminary design of the improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, this project will protect and enhance interstate mobility, and enhance safety <br />on both I -35W and CSAH 23 <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA that; the Anoka County Interchange Improvements at I- <br />35W and Anoka County State Aid Highway 23 be authorized as a High Priority Project <br />(HPP), and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that funds be authorized for the Federal partnership in <br />this project. <br />John J.
