Legacy Signage Criteria <br />Page 9 <br />Construction Signs. A temporary sign located on the site of an approved construction project which <br />identifies the project and its architect, engineer, contractor or supplier. Each site is allowed up to one <br />sign per street frontage, such signs must not exceed thirty -two square feet in area and must be <br />located a minimum of ten feet from any property line. All Construction Signs must be removed 30 <br />days from the certificate of occupancy for any portion of a commercial structure or the final unit of a <br />residential project. No permit is required. <br />Window Signs. Signs that are displayed on the interior face of window panes are limited to the <br />first floor level of buildings; shall not exceed 10% coverage of the window(s) on which they are <br />affixed. Window signs do not require a building permit. <br />Prohibited Signs <br />All other Temporary Signs not listed within Section 5.3 are prohibited within the Lino Lakes Town <br />Center; this specifically includes all types of banners and any hand - written signage unless specifically <br />allowed above. All private signage is prohibited from being located within public right of ways or being <br />attached to any public structure, utility pole or utility box. <br />5.4. SIGN ILLUMINATION <br />Illumination <br />Illumination of signage is permitted, however all illumination is limited to use during that tenant's hours <br />of operation. The source of light for any sign must be indirect or diffused and shall not be directed into <br />any adjoining residential district. Sign illumination is also prohibited from exceeding the light intensity <br />standards of Section 3, Subdivision 4.F of the City of Lino Lakes Zoning Ordinance. <br />Neon Accenting <br />The use of neon as an architectural accent requires an administrative approval by the City of Lino Lakes <br />Community Development Department. The use of neon accents is limited to the lesser of the tenant's <br />hours of operations or the hours between sunrise and 10:00 a.m. <br />Residential Adjacency <br />In the case of 24 hour businesses, such as a hotel, the exterior lighting, including sign illumination, of the <br />business shall be reviewed at time of building permits to guarantee that it will not be detrimental to any <br />of the adjacent residential uses. <br />Prohibited <br />There shall be no use of revolving beacons, flashing signs, zip flashers, or similar lighting devices. <br />Electronic Reader /Message Boards are also prohibited within the Lino Lakes Town Center. <br />5.5. GENERAL REGULATIONS <br />All permanent signage within the town center shall be constructed in accordance with the building <br />material requirements of Section 3.2. <br />All signs shall be constructed in conformance with the provisions of the State Building Code. <br />
