1 -4 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 06 -54 <br />Supporting the passage of legislation by the State of Minnesota <br />(House File 3805 and Senate File 3526) designating a segment of Interstate <br />Highway 35W as "Shawn Silvera Memorial Highway" <br />Whereas, Shawn Silvera began his formal career in law enforcement in <br />Coon Rapids as a community service officer in 1992; and <br />Whereas, Officer Shawn Silvera was a police officer in Forest Lake from <br />1996 to 1997; and <br />Whereas, Officer Shawn Silvera joined the Lino Lakes Police Department <br />in 1997 and served with distinction until his untimely death in the line of duty, on <br />September 6th, 2005; and <br />Whereas, the City Council and the people of Lino Lakes desire to honor <br />Shawn Silvera's service to our community; and <br />Whereas, the City Council finds the designation of a segment of Interstate <br />Highway 35W as "Shawn Silvera Memorial Highway" as an appropriate means of <br />honoring Officer Silvera and his service to the public; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />That the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota supports the <br />passage of H.F 3805 and S.F. 3526 which designates a segment of Interstate <br />Highway 35W as "Shawn Silvera Memorial Highway ". <br />John Bergeson, Mayor <br />Julianne Bartell, City Clerk <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 27th day of March, 2006. <br />
