AGENDA ITEM 3 B <br />STAFF MEMBER Daniel Tesch, Director of Administration <br />DATE 10 April 2005 <br />SUBJECT 2006 -2007 AFSCME Contract <br />VOTE REQUIRED 3/5 <br />BACKGROUND <br />We have reached a tentative two -year agreement with AFCME, the union which represents our <br />clerical/technical employees. We have agreed to split any increases in health insurance premiums <br />that may arise later this year, and provide for a 3% increase in wages for 2006 and 2007. Three <br />percent is the percentage increase given to Local 49 (general maintenance) and L.E.L.S (police <br />officers) for 2006. The city also agreed to a market increase of 7% for our two Recreation <br />Supervisors. <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Approve the contract with AFSCME <br />2. Not approve the contract with AFSCME. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Number One. <br />
