• <br />• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM 3D <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Gordon Heitke, City Administrator <br />MEETING DATE: April 10, 2006 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 06 -58 Adopting the Lino <br />Lakes City Council Code of Ethics <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Council of Lino Lakes first adopted guidelines for how the City Council <br />operates in 1999. In 2003, the City Council adopted a more comprehensive set of <br />guidelines entitled "Council Ethical Guidelines ". During the retreat held in February, <br />2006, the City Council determined that the current guidelines adopted in 2003 needed <br />to be reviewed and updated. It was agreed that a council member and staff <br />representative was assigned the task of preparing a set of updated guidelines for City <br />Council review at the April 3, 2006 work session, in preparation for City Council <br />adoption on April 10, 2006. <br />The updated "Lino Lakes City Council Code of Conduct" was presented and discussed <br />at the City Council work session of April 3, 2006. Recommended changes have been <br />incorporated and the final guidelines are being presented for the scheduled action at <br />this meeting. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff is recommending the approval of Resolution No. 06 -58 adopting the Lino Lakes <br />City Council Code of Conduct. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
