AWARDS RECOGNITION PROGRAM
The Lino Lakes Police Department always expects a high level of professional performance from
its employees. All department members can nominate peers they feel have exceeded the high
standards of the department. In 2005, the following employees were selected for Certificate of
Commendation awards:
1st QUARTER — OFFICER MELINDA BROWN
Officer Melinda Brown received recognition for her exceptional
performance in coordinating, developing and implementing the first annual
Middle School Public Safety Junior Academy. Through her professionalism
and perseverance she demonstrated the ability to partner with several public
safety agencies and the school district to create a memorable event for the
middle school students.
2nd QUARTER — MULTIPLE OFFICERS
Sergeant Hammes, Officers Steve Wagner, Mike Monson and Chris Bragelman were
recognized for their role in the apprehension of a suicidal suspect who threatened a partner with a
handgun and shot the family dog. He ultimately surrendered after a tense standoff with police.
Through teamwork they were able to turn a volatile and potential homicidal situation into a felony
arrest without injury to any officers or innocent neighbors.
Lino Lakes Police Department 2005 Annual Report 6
