MEETING DATE: <br />TOPIC: <br />AGENDA ITEM 6 A <br />Jeff Smyser <br />September 25, 2006 <br />PUBLIC HEARING: First Reading of <br />Ordinance No. 09 -06, Zoning Amendment to Amend <br />Zoning Ordinance Text Regarding Uses in NB, LB, and <br />GB Zones <br />ACTION: 3/5 vote <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Council directed staff to initiate a rezoning of the commercial lot on the <br />southeast corner of the intersection of Birch St. and Hodgson Rd. Consideration of <br />development of that property raised concern about the uses on that site allowed by the <br />zoning ordinance. The City Council considers some of the potentially allowable uses in <br />the Limited Business zone to be undesirable for this specific site. Examination of the <br />differences between the Limited Business and Neighborhood Business zones led to <br />recommendations to amend the ordinance to change some of the uses allowed in the three <br />business zoning districts. <br />The notice for the public hearing at the Planning & <br />only in the LB and NB zones.
