Nature's Refuge Development
Phase I Archaeological Survey and Architectural History Assessment
Page ii
The study area for architectural/historical properties included all properties located within
the project area. Should the project be altered from the present proposal, the study area
for architectural history will need to be adjusted as appropriate. The architectural history
assessment included background research and a visual reconnaissance of the survey area.
William E. Stark, M.A. served as Principal Investigator for architectural history.
During the Phase I archaeological survey for the Nature's Refuge Development project,
no archaeological materials were identified. Therefore, The 106 Group recommends no
further testing within the current project area.
The 106 Group identified three buildings within the project area older than 45 years of
age. Three houses were constructed in the 1960s and one house is believed to be a circa -
1900 farmhouse, but has been significantly altered by modern modifications. The
properties have low potential to be eligible for listing on the NRHP.
