Consideration of development of that property raised
concern about the uses on that site allowed by the zoning ordinance. The Council considers some of
the potentially allowable uses in the Limited Business zone to be undesirable for this specific site.
Examination of the differences between the Limited Business and Neighborhood Business zones led
to recommendations to amend the ordinance to change some of the uses allowed in the three business
zoning districts.

City Planner Smyser provided the staff analysis as well as reviewed the staff recommended zoning
amendments. He noted the amendment regarding extended care facilities has been removed for
further review.
• 30
Mayor Bergeson opened the public hearing at 6:55 p.m.

Mr. Peter Hiliger, Representative for Bruggeman Properties, came forward and read a letter from
Bruggeman Properties objecting to the proposed changes and outlining other conditional uses
Bruggeman Properties would like added to the ordinance.
