•
AGENDA ITEM 6D
STAFF ORIGINATOR: Mary Alice Divine
DATE: 11/13/06
TOPIC: First Reading of Ordinance 12 -06, Reconveying City
owned land to the State of Minnesota
Vote Required: Simple Majority
BACKGROUND:
On August 9, 2004 the city requested that Anoka County withhold from sale a tax
forfeited parcel (see attached) so that the city could obtain the parcel for public
purposes. The city wanted to retain this parcel for a well, but did not use the
parcel for that purpose.
An abutting landowner has inquired about purchase of that parcel. In order to
make that property available for private purchase, the city must reconvey the
land back to the State of Minnesota. Once that is complete the County will notify
surrounding landowners and offer it at a private sale.
0 The city charter requires that disposal of any city property shall be done by
ordinance.
OPTIONS:
1. Approve the Reading of Ordinance 12 -06 reconveying the parcel back to
the State of Minnesota
2. Do not approve the ordinance
3. Return to staff for further consideration
RECOMMENDATION:
Option 1
•
