St. Paul Regional Water Services, page 2
he attached maps show a close up of the Proposed Land Use maps from the Comprehensive Plan for the
eltier Lake and Centerville Lake areas.
While the Parks, Natural Open Space / Greenways and Trails System Plan indicates a trail and future park
location along the shore of Peltier Lake, these parcels do not provide an opportunity to address that requirement
at this time. Parcels 16 and 1 through 4 do not consist of enough land to support a trail, the easements that will
be necessary on this land for the Water Services to maintain appropriate controls for emergency water supply
would pose major difficulties to the placement of a trail within this land, and the city would need to purchase
the land from the owner rather than wait until development of the land would require the granting of park
dedication or fees in lieu of the land dedication. At this point the city does have right of way for Peltier Lake
Road that could be used for trail purposes, or more likely the trail and park will be provided within the future
development of the adjacent land.
•
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends adopting Resolution 06 -198 approving the Comprehensive Plan Amendment to change the
proposed land use designation of the parcels identified within this report as 2, 3, 4, 15, and a portion of parcel
14 from Public / Semi - Public to Low Density Sewered Residential.
ATTACHMENTS
1.
