AGENDA ITEM 4A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR David J Pecchia, Public Safety <br />Director /Chief of Police <br />DATE December 18, 2006 <br />TOPIC <br />VOTED REQUIRED <br />BACKGROUND <br />Consideration to Approve Resolution 06- <br />214 Adopting the Anoka County Multi - <br />Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan <br />Simple Majority <br />The County of Anoka has participated in a multi - <br />jurisdictional hazard mitigation planning process. The <br />countywide multi - jurisdictional mitigation plan has been <br />approved by the State of Minnesota Department of Homeland <br />Security and Emergency Management as well as the Federal <br />Emergency Management Agency. <br />The next step for approval is for the County and local units <br />of government to approve the plan. The Anoka County board <br />approved the plan on November 28, 2006. <br />Resolution No. 06 - 214 allows our city to adopt the Anoka <br />County Multi - Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. <br />The public portions of this plan will be discussed at the <br />January 3 2007 work session as part of the Lino Lakes <br />Emergency Management update. <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Approve Resolution 06 - 214. <br />2. Return to staff for further consideration. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve and sign. <br />
