0 COMPANY
March 12, 2008
Mr. Gordon Heitke
City Administrator
City of Lino Lakes
600 Town Center Parkway
Lino Lakes, Minnesota 55014
E -Mail: gheitke @ci.lino- lakes.mn.us
Dear Gordon:
Attached is a draft copy of the Key Observations and Conclusions made at the
March 10 -11, 2008 City Leadership Workshop. I would appreciate your reviewing
particularly the portion of the document pertaining to the revised performance objectives
for the remainder of 2008 and 2009. Please let me or my Executive Assistant, Sharon
Wallin, 303 - 235 -0823 or Sharon @executivesupportservices .net, know of the changes you
desire before you distribute this document to the Mayor, members of City Council, and
other appropriate parties.
I recommend three actions be taken relatively quickly:
1. The council meet as a whole to discuss and debrief each other on the discussions
and decisions made at the March 10 workshop. Special attention needs to be given
to ensuring Council member Reinert has the opportunity to know what was
discussed and what decisions were made.
2. A quarterly follow -up session be scheduled to reinforce council and staff s
resolve to work together consistent with comments made by the Mayor on behalf
of council to the staff on March 11.
3. A process be discussed between Council and the City Administrator /staff as to
how and when relationship issues can be raised and resolved in a timely and
constructive manner.
