(magna cum laude), University of Minnesota, 1983 <br />B.A. (summa cum laude), Wartburg College, 1979 <br />PRIMARY PRACTICE AREAS • Corrine's <br />practice is focused on municipal law, <br />advising local government bodies on the <br />wide range of issues that they face daily. <br />Whether the issue involves public <br />contracting, land use, employment or the <br />Open Meeting Law, the firm's clients depend <br />upon prompt and capable legal advice. In <br />addition to serving as the city attorney for <br />Cottage Grove and Richfield, Corrine also <br />regularly advises the firm's clients on data <br />practices compliance and real estate matters, <br />including eminent domain. <br />BACKGROUND • A history and political <br />science major, Corrine earned her Bachelor <br />of Arts degree in 1979 from Wartburg <br />College in Waverly, Iowa, where she <br />graduated summa cum laude. After a year -long <br />stint of working in secretarial positions for <br />the Minnesota Legislature and St. Paul City <br />Attorney Office, Corrine enrolled at the <br />University of Minnesota Law School. She <br />graduated magna cum laude from the <br />University in 1983. Following law school, <br />Corrine worked as a law clerk for Judges <br />Edward A. Bearse and Stanley N. Thorup of <br />the Anoka County District Court. From <br />1985 to 1989, she practiced with the <br />LeFevere, Lefler, Kennedy, O'Brien and <br />Drawz firm. She joined the predecessor firm <br />to Kennedy & Graven in 1989. <br />MEMBERSHIPS AND PROFESSIONAL <br />ACTIVITIES • Corrine is certified by the <br />Minnesota State Bar Association as a Real <br />Property Law Specialist. She has also been <br />recognized by her peers as a Lan' and Politics <br />Super Lawyer© since 2005. Commitment to <br />public service is a cornerstone of Corrine's <br />law practice, and that commitment extends <br />to leadership in various professional <br />organizations. She has served as the state <br />chairperson for the International Municipal <br />Lawyers Association since 1992. She is a <br />member of the Minnesota City Attorneys' <br />Association, where she has served on the <br />board of trustees and as president. She is a <br />member and past - president of Minnesota <br />Women Lawyers. She is active in the <br />Hennepin County Bar Association's Eminent <br />Domain Section, where she has also served <br />as chairperson. Corrine is a frequent lecturer <br />on data practices and eminent domain <br />subjects. She has given presentations on <br />those and other topics to various <br />organizations for attorneys and municipal <br />officials. <br />PERSONAL • Outside the office, Corrine <br />enjoys walking, reading history and <br />mysteries, and attending theatrical <br />performances.
