O'MEARA Attorney at Law <br />Shamus O'Meara is a partner with Johnson & Condon representing school districts, <br />businesses and local governments in complex liability, construction and transaction- <br />al matters. He serves as a mediator and arbitrator for construction and commercial <br />disputes, and presents nationally on school safety and construction topics. He has <br />been recognized as an Attorney of the Year by Minnesota Lawyer, and a Super <br />Lawyer by Minnesota Law & Politics for his education and construction practice. <br />Shamus represents clients in all areas of school safety, including school shooting inci- <br />dents. He has worked with the U.S. Secret Service, U.S. and Minnesota <br />Departments of Education, U.S. Attorneys Office, FBI, Minnesota Department of <br />Public Safety, school districts, charter schools, and many state and national educa- <br />tion organizations to promote safety awareness and crisis management in schools <br />and on campuses. <br />Shamus also represents owners, contractors and other parties involved in the con- <br />struction process. He negotiates and handles all aspects of construction contract <br />placement, public and private bidding, insurance and bonding issues, coordinates <br />with various construction professionals, and handles claims and litigation involving <br />construction projects. <br />He serves on boards for facilities management, indoor air, developmental disabilities <br />and legal defense, and on a legislative school safety and emergency management task <br />force. <br />Shamus is a 1991 graduate of William Mitchell College of Law in Saint Paul, <br />Minnesota. He is admitted to all state and federal courts in Minnesota, the 8th <br />Circuit Court of Appeals, and has been admitted pro hac vice in several jurisdictions. <br />
