Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 08 -77 <br />APPROVING A SPECIAL EVENT AND PARADE PERMIT <br />FOR BLUE HERON DAYS, AUGUST 15 -17, 2008 <br />WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes summer celebration, Blue Heron Days, is planned for the <br />weekend of August 15 through August 17, 2008; <br />WHEREAS, the schedule for this year's festival includes a parade, ambassador's <br />program and coronation, petting zoo, a medallion hunt, bike rodeo, and business expo; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Blue Heron Days Committee has submitted an application to the City <br />for a special event and parade permit in conjunction with said events; and <br />WHEREAS, said permit applications were reviewed for compliance with the City of Lino <br />Lakes code of ordinances by city administration, police, fire and public works divisions; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County has approved a special permit to allow for parade activities <br />on Lake Drive on August 16, 2008 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />That the City Council hereby approves the special event and parade permit application <br />for the 2008 Blue Heron Days festival subject to ongoing efforts to ensure proper safety, <br />signage and related issues. <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 28th day of July, 2008. <br />John Bergeson, Mayor <br />Julianne Bartell, City Clerk <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council <br />Member and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br />The following voted against same: <br />29b <br />
