0 Chapter 9: Community Facilities Plan <br />• <br />• <br />Introduction <br />The purpose of this section is to provide the goals and policies for community facilities developed <br />by the Citizen Comprehensive Plan Advisory Panel, inventory the various community facilities <br />within the City of Lino Lakes, and to identify future community facility needs to accommodate the <br />need for new services. <br />Goals and Policies <br />Goal 1: Maintain the first -class education that the children of Lino Lakes are receiving, while also <br />providing opportunities for additional education for adults. <br />Policies: <br />1. Maintain the high level of education that residents have come to expect. <br />2. Provide learning opportunities for residents of all ages. <br />Goal 2: Promote the usage, creation, and uniqueness of community facilities, while also soliciting <br />creative funding sources. <br />Policies: <br />1. Promote the community green within the Legacy at Woods Edge development as a <br />gathering place for Lino Lakes' residents and visitors from around the region. <br />2. Ensure that community facilities are adequate to serve additional needs. <br />3. Establish a regional library in Lino Lakes. <br />Goal 3: Maintain quality public facilities and the full complement of city services to the residents <br />of Lino Lakes. <br />Policies: <br />1. Ensure that governmental buildings and services are located so as to offer ease of access <br />and minimal response time. <br />2. Provide for adequate maintenance of the City's buildings and equipment and for their <br />orderly replacement. <br />3. Fully plan for and program city services to support growth <br />4. Hold public buildings to high architectural standards to create a sense of community <br />identity, ensure land use compatibility, and to serve as examples for private <br />development. <br />9 -1 <br />
