• <br />• <br />• <br />LIQUOR VIOLATIONS HEARING <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Captain Kent Strege <br />HEARING DATE: October 27, 2008 <br />TOPIC: Liquor Compliance Checks & Violations <br />Liquor License Hearing — Background / Recommendation <br />On August 29, 2008 representatives of the Lino Lakes Police Department completed liquor <br />license compliance checks on all licensed establishments in Lino Lakes that were open at the <br />time. The only establishment to fail by selling alcohol to an underage buyer was Jason's Bobby <br />& Steve's Auto World. This establishment holds a total of 4 licenses (3.2 Off Sale, 3.2 On- <br />Sale, On Sale Wine & Sunday Sales). <br />Utilizing the Best Practices Grid, the August 29th violation would be considered the first <br />violation (no other violations in the preceding 12 months) with a recommendation of a $1,000 <br />civil penalty for violation of the 3.2 Off Sale license. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />In summary the police department recommends that the following penalties be imposed on the <br />Jason's Bobby & Steve's Auto World , as defined in the grid: <br />$1,000 civil penalty for first violation <br />ATTACHMENT <br />Best Practices Grid <br />
