• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM 7A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Gordon Heitke <br />MEETING DATE: November 24, 2008 <br />TOPIC: Selection of Attorney For Audit of Charter Commission <br />Practices <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />BACKGROUND <br />At its regular council meeting of October 27, 2008, the City Council was presented with <br />a written request from the Citizens for Safer Roads to conduct an audit of the practices <br />of the Lino Lakes Charter Commission. The Council received a presentation from <br />representatives of the group at the November 3, 2008 work session. Staff was <br />directed to place the request on the November 10, 2008 regular meeting for council <br />action. At this meeting the City Council approved conducting a legal compliance audit <br />of the practices of the Lino Lakes Charter Commission and directed the city attorney to <br />contact the League of Minnesota Cities for the purpose of identifying qualified <br />attomeys to conduct such an audit. <br />City Attomey Baumgartner has submitted the attached list of qualified attomeys <br />provided to him by the League of Minnesota Cities. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
